I was commissioned to create a comprehensive series of artworks to bring the Children’s room in the new Smidmore Street section of the Marrickville Metro center to life..

Artist’s Statement: When approaching the theme of the Community Garden, I wanted to create a series of artworks that would work together to create a sense of wonderment and playfulness for children whilst also being aesthetically pleasing for parents alike. As a new father who lives locally, this project resonated with me greatly and I was delighted to have the opportunity to make an artwork for young children who are at the peak of their curiosity, discovery and exploration of the world. Living in the city, it is important to me that our children understand our connection with and reliance on nature for the food we eat. It is my hope that this artwork will bring enjoyment to all those who view it and encourage an interest and curiosity in the wonders of nature amongst our little ones.
